NGOsource Update
Happy #GivingTuesday from the NGOsource Team!

As our work at NGOsource and TechSoup becomes more global, we're excited to watch enthusiasm for philanthropy increase around the world. #GivingTuesday has become a truly global celebration of giving that anyone can participate in. We have a lot to celebrate at NGOsource this season — read on to learn more about the milestones our community has reached.

Due to the holiday schedule, the NGOsource office will be closed December 25, 2015 through January 3, 2016. You can still reach us during the break at accountsupport@ngosource.org with any time-sensitive inquiries.

Wishing you the best this season,

Danish, Fonda, Ken, Kyle, Meghan, Natasha, Saerin, Sangeeta, Sarah, and Sheila

TechSoup Launches Global Platform
Global map
TechSoup is proud to announce that with the launch of our new platform, www.TechSoup.Global, we are able to deliver critical technology capacity-building tools and services to NGOs anywhere in the world. Through this global expansion, TechSoup can now partner with NGOsource member grantmakers to get technology tools and training into the hands of their grantees globally. Read more on our blog about what this means for NGOsource and international giving.

Celebrating Our 1,000th ED Request
Two boys sitting together
In November, NGOsource received its 1,000th equivalency determination request! Thanks so much to our member grantmakers and partners for all your support in getting us to this milestone. The 1,000 ED requests received so far represent 737 unique organizations in 96 countries around the world. To add to our growing repository, sign up to become a member, or, if you're already a member, request a new ED.

Impact Story: Marine Conservation in Madagascar

In the past decade, Blue Ventures Conservation has become a global leader in marine conservation and community development. Blue Venture Conservation's ED certification has been used by three different US grantmakers to help it expand its impact and reach. Read its inspiring story.

Welcome to Our Newest Members!
Boy helping other boy
Increasing NGOsource membership leads to a larger repository of completed equivalency determinations (EDs). Our members benefit from each other's completed EDs. When grantmakers request an ED that's already completed, we can reissue it to another member in one day for $250. We all share EDs under the NGOsource model.

Please join us in welcoming these new members:
  • The Choudhrie Family Foundation
  • The Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation
  • J.C. Flowers Foundation
  • Friends of the Graduate Institute, Geneva, Inc.
  • Gilead Sciences
ABOUT NGOSOURCE
We do the legwork, legal work, and paperwork for you. NGOsource allows U.S. grantmakers to quickly and accurately determine if a non-U.S. NGO is equivalent to a U.S. public charity (the process of "equivalency determination" or "ED").
A CLEAR NEED

NGOsource is a project of the Council on Foundations and TechSoup.

TechSoup's mission is to build a dynamic bridge that enables civil society organizations and social change agents around the world to gain effective access to the resources they need to design and implement solutions for a more equitable planet.

The Council on Foundations, formed in 1949, is a nonprofit membership association of grantmaking foundations and corporations. Members of the Council include more than 1,700 independent, operating, community, public, and company-sponsored foundations and corporate-giving programs in the United States and abroad. The Council's mission is to provide the opportunity, leadership, and tools needed by philanthropic organizations to expand, enhance, and sustain their ability to advance the common good.
